If you’re looking to cast an actor as a humble, honorable American hero in your movie, Tom Hanks is your man.
In Clint Eastwood‘s Sully, (no, not John Goodman’s Monsters Inc. character), Hanks portrays the real-life Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger, who piloted the 2009 emergency landing of US Airways flight 1549 in the Hudson River.
But not everyone agreed that Sully was a hero and an investigation opened questioning his piloting.
He’s the kind of good guy the whole family can get behind, the guy who will make your dad tear up at the movies.
