Development on a film based on the life and career of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is underway, particularly based upon the Deflategate controversy of the 2016-2017 season and the Patriots’ unlikely twenty-five point comeback to win Super Bowl 51 against the Atlanta Falcons in February 2017.
According to Deadline, the Brady film will be adapted from 12, a yet-to-be-published book by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge about the turmoil-filled 2016-2017 season.
Given these writers’ past track record, it’ll be hard to expect a nuanced and balanced portrayal of Brady and the Patriots.
The book will be released in 2018, and The Maze Runner producer Ellen Goldsmith-Vein is working on the adaptation from screenwriters Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson.
