What follows is one of the bloodiest and most senselessly violent sequences in comic book movie history, but it’s punctuated by Wade (Reynolds) encountering his longtime friend Bob (who may or may not be a HYDRA agent) and reminiscing about their trips to TGI Fridays before red-clad anti-hero headbutts his old buddy into unconsciousness.
That particular scene pretty much encapsulates one of the many reasons why fans have fallen in love with the burgeoning Deadpool franchise.
By ending the sequence on such a bizarre note, the film shines a light on the absurdity of the violence that preceded it.
Taking place towards the end of the first film, it follows the nigh-invincible titular badass as he lays waste to Ajax’s henchmen in a junkyard.
