According to Deadline, Village Roadshow and Columbia Pictures’ The Equalizer sequel is bringing back Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter, London Has Fallen) and Bill Pullman (Independence Day: Resurgence, The Sinner) as Susan and Brian Plummer, friends of Denzel Washington’s Robert McCall during his counter-terrorism days.
Fuqua’s 2014 adaptation of the 1980s television series The Equalizer grossed over $192 million worldwide and co-starred Chloe Moretz, Marton Csokas, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo.
Washington is returning as McCall for The Equalizer 2, as is director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Magnificent Seven) and screenwriter Richard Wenk (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, The Expendables 2).
The Equalizer 2 is set for release on September 14, 2018.
