One would imagine that the team would at least approach HBO before heading straight to streaming, although it may be that Lorne Michaels already met with the network and they passed before talks could go any further.
It could be that Kevin McDonald was just rolling with the Mr. Show idea when he name-dropped Netflix to news-press, but it is interesting that the Kids In The Hall star went straight to that idea considering the series originally aired on HBO in the United States.
Considering Netflix is leading the charge in reviving shows that have been off the air for a long time, it also just might make more sense for the sketch comedy stars to take their oddball comedy there.
