Many wonderful minutes were wasted watching people get bundled by giant, walking gloves on Takeshi’s Castle in the mid-2000s, and now the cult hit is coming back with a new series commentated by Jonathan Ross.
Takeshi’s Castle originally aired in Japan in the late 1980s, but slowly found a worldwide audience as reinterpreted versions ran in different countries.
“Takeshi’s Castle is the gold standard of physical game shows and we can’t wait to bring the delightful mayhem of this show back to the UK with this new series,” said Louise Holmes, Vice President, General Manager, Comedy Central UK.
Taking over from Craig Charles (who also recently got replaced on the Robot Wars reboot) the new Takeshi’s Castle will be shot in Thailand and see 100 members of the public take on a ridiculous selection of assault courses.
