The trailers for All the Money in the World initially sold the movie as a vehicle to take Kevin Spacey to the Oscars in 2018, but allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey led to director Ridley Scott deciding to work fast and replace him with Plummer, who was reportedly the original choice to portray J. Paul Getty, anyway.
Now, with Plummer firmly in place, it looks like we could have a record-breaking year on our hands.
All in all, this is a relatively quick turn of events for Christopher Plummer when we consider the fact that he likely wasn’t even on anyone’s radar at the beginning of the fall Oscar movie season.
