Last week, Marvel surprised fans by announcing that Avengers: Infinity War would no longer be released on May the 4th, as had previously been the release date.
Instead, Avengers: Infinity War was moved up a week, to April 27.
Although Disney didn’t explicitly say it at the time of the Avengers 3’s date change, moving the Marvel film will also put a slightly bigger gap between Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story, as well.
Although that still would have been the week after Rampage was going to be released, likely the studio felt like a two week gap would be healthier for the box office of the Dwayne Johnson-starrer.
