The new show will be inspired by the World Warrior arc as detailed in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, the 1991 follow-up to the original Street Fighter game.
Previous Street Fighter adaptations include the 1994 movie of the same name starring action hero Jean-Claude Van Damme, and 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li with Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk.
The series will be executive produced by Joey Ansah, Jacqueline Quella and Mark Wooding, who previously adapted the game into a live-action web series for YouTube called Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist.
Television and film producer Mark Gordon is teaming up with Entertainment One to adapt the iconic video game franchise Street Fighter into a television series, Deadline reports.
