The festival was organised by Fyre Media founder Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule, with the series set to feature ‘interviews with inside sources ranging from local Bahamians and stranded festivalgoers to vendors, investors and others.’
We’re finally going to get an in-depth look at everyone’s favourite schadenfreude-filled news story, Fyre Festival, with Hulu setting up a multi-episode documentary set to premiere in 2019.
Hulu said the docuseries will serve as a cautionary tale for the millennial generation about the corruptive power of ambition, social media and instant gratification in a digital age.
Co-produced by Cinemart, Billboard and Mic, the series will, according to Deadline, ‘recount the events leading up to and during the Bahamian festival, as well as its eventual collapse and aftermath.’
