Paramount Players and JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced plans today for the studio to acquire the feature film rights to Creepy Crawlers, the iconic toy brand owned by JAKKS Pacific.
For those who are not familiar with the ’90s toy brand, Creepy Crawlers was originally created by Mattel in the 1960s.
“Creepy Crawlers has been an iconic brand since the 1960’s and we are honored to work with Neal Moritz, Paramount Players, and the Nickelodeon-Viacom Family in bringing it to life on the big screen,” said Stephen Berman, Chairman & CEO, JAKKS Pacific.
The toy was revived in the ’90s by ToyMax with similar molds and Plastigoop, but with stricter safety regulations.
