Alan Tudyk, the star of the Fox cult series Firefly and Disney’s acclaimed Wreck-it-Ralph, has signed on to lead the cast in the upcoming SYFY pilot adapting the Dark Horse Comic Resident Alien, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
When the town’s doctor is murdered, the alien has to put his secret mission aside and take the doctor’s place, helping solve crimes and treat those in town.
Tudyk is joined by Sara Tomko (Sneaky Pete), Corey Reynolds (Murder in the First), Alice Wetterlund (People of Earth) and Levi Fiehler (Mars), with Tudyk set to play Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, a reclusive resident of a small Colorado town whose identity is taken over by an alien that crash lands on earth.
The 47-year-old actor was recently cast in the upcoming DC Universe series adaptation of Doom Patrol as the villain Mr. Nobody and was also recently seen in the Amazon Prime adaptation of The Tick in a recurring role, in Deadpool 2 in a cameo and can be heard in the upcoming sequel to the animated hit, Ralph Breaks the Internet.
