Variety has brought word that DreamWorks Animation is in final talks to bring the Plaid Hat tabletop game Mice and Mystics to the big screen.
They must fight their way out of the castle as they face dangerous foes including rats, cockroaches, spiders and the castle’s house cat, Brodie.
The game, created by Jerry Hawthorne, is a role-playing adventure following players loyal to the king who are imprisoned in a seaside castle and turned into mice by the evil Vanestra.
The film adaptation, which is being currently being produced by Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Jon Berg, is being directed by Alexandre Aja (Horns) and co-written by Aja and David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2, Aquaman).
