According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow have pushed the long-delayed Sherlock Holmes 3 back a full year from December 25, 2020 to December 22, 2021 for reasons unknown.
That’s a huge blow for fans who have been clamoring for another installment for nearly eight years — the last installment, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, was released in theaters in 2011, while its predecessor, Sherlock Holmes, debuted in 2009.
As of now it is unclear if stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will return to the franchise.
Ditto with director Guy Ritchie, who is busy with Disney’s Aladdin at the moment.
