Zac Efron (Baywatch) was previously attached to star in the film, with Skrein replacing his place in the cast.
Deadline has brought word that Ana Lily Amirpour (The Bad Batch)’s next project Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon led by an ensemble cast including Korean breakout actress Jun Jong-Seo (Burning), Craig Robinson (This is the End), Kate Hudson (Deepwater Horizon) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool), has begun shooting in New Orleans.
Amirpour is also currently attached to direct a female-led reboot of the Sylvester Stallone 1993 action hit Cliffhanger.
In addition to Jong-Seo, Robinson, Hudson and Skrein, the film will star Evan Whitten, who is best known for his roles portraying a younger Elliot (Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody) on the acclaimed USA Network thriller Mr. Robot and appearing on Fox’s hit medical drama The Resident.
