Michael Bay (6 Underground) and Sylvester Stallone (Rambo: Last Blood) have had two of the most iconic action genre careers in Hollywood, and now they’re finally set to work together for the first time on the upcoming dystopian thriller Little America, according to Deadline.
Little America is being described as being reminiscent of John Carpenter’s 1981 Kurt Russell-led Escape From New York and is set to be shot in summer, while Stallone films the upcoming superhero thriller Samaritan in the meantime.
Bay, who recently debuted his expensive Netflix project 6 Underground led by Ryan Reynolds (Free Guy), has signed on to executive produce the project through his banner Platinum Dunes.
Universal had previously won the rights to Athale’s script, but after the project hit the market, Universal left and AGC Studios acquired it, currently opening up bids at the European Film Market.
