According to Variety, Sony Pictures is in the process of developing a film adaptation of Crossfire, based on Smilegate Entertainment’s popular first-person shooter video game of the same name.
The Crossfire film will be produced by Fast & Furious producer Neal H. Moritz, who has been developing the project since 2015, through his Original Film banner.
Crossfire is free-to-play first-person shooter which features two mercenary corporations: the Black List and Global Risk, who are fighting against each other.
Nearly 13 years since its launched, the video game has already earned a grossed of $12 billion in lifetime revenue as of 2019.
