Simon Kinberg Confirms the Next X-Men Movie Will be Set in the ’90s

The upcoming New Mutants film is set to feature a new roster of super-powered teens, including Magik, Wolfsbane, Dani Moonstar, Cannonball, Sunspot, and Warlock with a previous report pointing toward Alexandra Shipp‘s Storm (who makes her debut in this summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse) and James McAvoy’s Professor Charles Xavier playing major roles in the film as well.

2011’s X-Men: First Class was set in the 1960s and its follow-up, X-Men: Days of Future Past, took place in the 1970s, with the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse set to demolish the 1980s.

One might be able to guess where the next X-Men film will be logically headed, and one would be right.
