According to Deadline, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Reed Morano (The Handmaid’s Tale) is currently in negotiations to direct STXfilms’ forthcoming biographical crime drama film The Godmother which will be starring Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Lopez as she portrays the role of real-life notorious Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
The Godmother will be produced by Jennifer Lopez alongside Julie Yorn, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina.
In addition, Oscar winner William Monahan (The Departed) is also in talks to rewrite the screenplay written by Regina Corrado (Deadwood: The Movie) and Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos).
Monahan is also working with Morano on another film project for Spycraft Entertainment which is the thriller drama Sabaya starring MCU star Zoe Saldana.
