Gladiator director Ridley Scott has revealed Russell Crowe had to narrowly escape a real tiger on set.
Revealing that there was a real tiger in the ring, which Crowe had to narrowly escape, Scott added: “[The tiger was] a big boy from tail to nose, eleven feet.
Gladiator, which also starred Joaquin Phoenix and Djimon Hounsou, was a blockbuster success, with Crowe later winning a Best Actor Oscar for his performance.
The 2000 film starred Crowe as a former Roman general forced to become a common gladiator.
