After helming the modestly successful remake of cult horror classic Black Christmas for Blumhouse Pictures, Sophia Takal is ready to step back into the director’s chair for the Netflix’s sci-fi thriller Where I End, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Takal made her directorial debut with the 2011 South by Southwest Festival darling Green, where she won the Chicken and Egg Emergent Narrative Woman Director prize, and followed it up with the acclaimed 2016 psychological thriller Always Shine.
Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment are attached to the project as producers alongside Nate Matteson and Hiro Murai of Super Frog Films.
She would make her Blumhouse debut in 2018 with the fourth episode of the studio’s Hulu horror anthology New Year, New You, which received highly positive reviews from critics, and continued with last year’s loose remake of Black Christmas for the indie powerhouse, on which she co-wrote the script with April Wolfe.
