The original film, directed by John Badham (Saturday Night Fever) and written by S.S. Wilson (Tremors) and Brent Maddock (Batteries Not Included), centered on an experimental military robot that is struck by lightning and gains a human-like intelligence.
The new sci-fi comedy will be produced by Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak with Rehab Entertainment’s John W. Hyde returning as executive producer alongside Terissa Kelton, while Peter Oillataguerre and Production VP Chris Stone overseeing for Spyglass.
