The project will be loosely inspired by the G-Men, a parody of the X-Men from The Boys comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
The series was created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, who are responsible for another subversive comic book-inspired series, AMC’s Preacher, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.
After showrunner Eric Kripke previously confirmed the development of a The Boys spinoff last year, Variety brings word that the project might soon finally secure an official series order from Amazon Prime Video.
In addition, the untitled spinoff, which will center around young adult superheroes at Vought-run college, has found its first cast member with Lizze Broadway (The Rookie, Southland).
