Paramount has given a formal green light to Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, a prequel series to the classic 1978 musical, according to a recent report from Deadline.
The prequel will be written and executive produced by creator Annabel Oakes (Atypical), with Oakes also serving as showrunner.
Marty Bowen will executive produce via Temple Hill, with Erik Feig set to also join on as executive producer via Picturestart.
The series, which is said to be heading to Paramount+, will be a 10-episode order, and has apparently been in the works for a few weeks now.
