Emmy nominee Rob Lowe (The West Wing, 9-1-1: Lone Star) is set to headline and executive produce the upcoming Netflix film Dog Gone, according to a recent report from Deadline.
While the film is based on a true story, it will also be drawing from the book Dog Gone: A Lost Pet’s Extraordinary Journey and the Family Who Brought Him Home by Pauls Toutonghi as well.
The film is based on the true story of a father and son who repair their fractured relationship during a forced hike of the Appalachian trail to find their beloved dog.
Johnny Berchtold and Kimberly Williams-Paisley will also star in the film, with Emmy Award Nominee Nick Santora (The Sopranos, Prison Break, Scorpion) attached to write the film.
