More than a week since the first death anniversary of Chadwick Boseman, Howard University is continuing to honor his legacy by officially renaming its College of Fine Arts after their late alumnus.
While in college, he was notably mentored by acclaimed actress Phylicia Rashad, who is currently the dean of the Howard University’s College of Fine Arts which has now been renamed as Chadwick A. Boseman Colllege of Fine Arts.
The beloved Black Panther star graduated from Howard in 2000, with a bachelor of arts degree in directing.
He followed that historic portrayal with two more: As singer James Brown in 2014’s Get on Up and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall in 2017’s Marshall.
