ABC has finally revealed the first teaser for the upcoming historical drama miniseries titled Women of the Movement, centering around the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley’s fight against the injustice and inhumane death of her 14-year-old son Emmett Till, who was lynched by white supremacists in the Jim Crow-era South.
Women of the Movement is created and executive produced by Marissa Jo Cerar, who also serves as the showrunner.
The historical drama is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, Tina Mabry, Julie Dash, and Kasi Lemmons.
The six-episode limited series is scheduled to premiere, starting on Thursday, January 6, for three consecutive weeks.
