Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Netflix’s hit series The Crown is likely to stop production on its upcoming sixth season, according to a recent report from Deadline.
The fourth season also took home multiple major awards, including Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress.
Not too much is known about the upcoming sixth and final season of The Crown, but early reports suggest that the season will cover the 1990s to the early 2000s era of British royalty. The Crown‘s sixth season will star Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles, and Jonny Lee Miller as John Major. The Crown hails from creator/writer Peter Morgan, director Stephen Daldry, and producer Andy Harries (The Queen).
“The Crown is a love letter to her and I’ve nothing to add, for now, just silence and respect,” said Morgan in his brief statement.
