According to Collider, Lucasfilm is currently eyeing a summer 2024 release date for its upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which takes place more than 100 years before the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
Star Wars: The Acolyte is written and executive produced by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who will also be serving as the showrunner.
Joining Stenberg are Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), and Star Wars sequel trilogy alum Joonas Suotama as a new character in the form of a Wookiee Jedi master.
