Warner Bros. Television has officially tapped Emmy winning-producer Francesca Gardiner (Killing Eve) to become the showrunner and executive producer of the highly-anticipated Harry Potter HBO series.
Warner Bros. also has the Fantastic Beasts prequel series of films under its belt, including 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, 2018’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and 2022’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
The Harry Potter seven-book series was adapted into eight films that earned over $7 billion at the worldwide box office.
HBO’s Harry Potter series will be written by Gardiner, who is executive producing alongside Mylod, J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and long-time Harry Potter franchise producer David Heyman.
