The series, which does not yet have a network attached, is based on Melissa De La Cruz‘s best-selling Blue Bloods books, which are set in a version of New York City that is ruled by an elite group of immortal vampires, our sister site Deadline reports.
The Blue Bloods series will reportedly revolve around 17-year-old Sky, a human-vampire hybrid who has recently enrolled at the distinguished Duchesne Institute.
De La Cruz will also executive-produce, alongside Richard Abate for 3 Arts Entertainment and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein for The Gotham Group.
This is not the first time a book series from De La Cruz has been adapted into a TV series; she wrote the source material for Lifetime’s short-lived Witches of East End.
