My Lady Jane has been thrown off the throne — for good. has cancelled the comedic fantasy drama, which reimagined the life of short-lived Queen of England Lady Jane Grey, TVLine has confirmed. The show’s first and only season debuted on the streamer June 27 and was well-received, but failed to rank on Nielsen’s Top 10 weekly streaming charts.
Named one of TVLine’s most underrated shows of 2024, My Lady Jane starred Emily Bader (Charmed) as the titular “young Tudor noblewoman who was Queen of England for nine days and then beheaded, back in good ol’ 1553,” reads the official synopsis.
The series, however, told “history the way it should have happened: the damsel in distress saves herself.
This is an epic tale of true love and high adventure set in an alt-universe of action, history, fantasy, comedy, romance, and rompy-pompy.”
