Still, based on what we’ve seen in trailers for The LEGO Batman Movie, it certainly has potential as both a silly take on the Dark Knight as well as an entertaining entry in Warner Bros’ growing movie universe.
As such, it’s not quite the same creative team working behind the scenes on The LEGO Batman Movie and it remains to be seen if the spinoff will feature the same magic as The LEGO Movie.
Lord and Miller, who were praised for the unique humor and charm of The LEGO Movie, stayed on as producers for The LEGO Batman Movie, while the film was directed by Chris McKay (Robot Chicken) from a script penned by Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter).
Although Snyder and Ben Affleck’s Batman will return in 2017 for Warner Bros’ Justice League, another iteration of the caped crusader will be rappelling into theaters earlier in the year thanks to The LEGO Batman Movie.
