1978’s Halloween introduced Michael Myers to the world, a mask-wearing, knife-wielding serial killer who murdered his family and now turns his homicidal attentions to others.
That original movie spawned seven sequels (although Halloween III: Season of the Witch did not feature Michael) and a 2007 remake, which earned its own sequel in 2009.
With the news about how the Friday the 13th reboot has reportedly been scrapped, it’s somewhat amusing that Halloween has swooped in to take its place as the horror classic gearing up for a re-imagining, and it will be interesting to see what David Gordon Green and Danny McBride have in store to make this story unique from its predecessors.
