HBO Max has announced that they have officially given a series order to wiip’s forthcoming anthology series adaptation of The Uninhabitable Earth, based on author David Wallace-Wells’ best-selling novel and New York Magazine climate change article of the same name.
The Uninhabitable Earth will be executive produced by Succession producers Adam McKay and Kevin Messick through their Hyperobject Industries banner.
On top of executive producing, Emmy nominee Adam McKay (Succession) has also signed on to write and direct the first episode.
First published in 2019, The Uninhabitable Earth offers readers a travelogue of the near future and the impending terrors – rising sea levels, food shortages, refugee emergencies, climate wars and economic devastation – we will all face.
