The 69th Emmy Awards has perhaps unsurprisingly taken a turn for the political with both Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon winning trophies for their Saturday Night Live performances as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Visibly emotional, the Ghostbusters star described her work on Saturday Night Live as “the most meaningful thing I will ever do.”
Baldwin won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award at the Los Angeles ceremony, immediately referencing host Stephen Colbert’s earlier mention of Trump’s past failures to win an Emmy for The Apprentice USA.
