IMDb TV has renewed the series adaptation Alex Rider for a second season which will be based on author Anthony Horowitz’s fourth novel in the franchise Eagle Strike, according to TVLine.
“I couldn’t be happier with the response to Season 1 of Alex Rider and I’m thrilled that the adventure is going to continue with Eagle Strike, one of my favourite stories,” franchise author and series EP Anthony Horowitz said in a statement.
Before the official renewal, Eleventh Hour Films had already been planning to begin production on Season 2 early next year.
In Eagle Strike, Alex is now a reluctant MI6 agent and is relaxing in the south of France when a ruthless attack on his hosts plunges him back into a world of violence and mystery.
