I Know What You Did Last Summer was followed by a theatrical sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in 1998 and a direct-to-video third film, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, in 2006.
The update of the cult classic ’90s teen slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer has found its home at Amazon Studios with Preacher veteran Sara Goodman attached to write and executive produce alongside horror maestro James Wan via his Atomic Monster banner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We are thrilled to have I Know What You Did Last Summer with our incredible partners at Amazon Studios,” Sony Pictures TV Studios co-president Jason Clodfelter said in a statement.
“The best horror franchises always have another scare coming, and this I Know What You Did Last Summer series from Sara Goodman is a perfectly twisted update to the iconic slasher movie,” Albert Cheng, COO and co-head of television at Amazon Studios, said in a statement.
