According to The Wrap, Academy-Award nominated actress Amy Adams has joined director Ron Howard’s (A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon, Solo: A Star Wars Story) feature adaptation of Hillbilly Elegy, based on the bestseller by J.D. Vance.
Hillbilly Elegy will likely begin production later this year.
Adams recently starred in Adam McKay’s Vice and will next appear in the mystery crime film The Woman in the Window.
Vance’s memoir, Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis, centers on growing up in the Rust Belt and is a personal analysis of the white underclass, race, and privilege in America.
