A documentary about Anne Frank, shot in Gaza and starring Palestinian girls reading from the German-born Jew’s diary, has been secretly screened in Iran.
Anne Frank: Then and Now was filmed during the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict.
Sedlar, who praised the organisers of the Anne Frank: Then and Now screening for their bravery, said he hoped the film would help spread information about the events of the Holocaust in Iran.
It’s an event Deadline has called a “clandestine cultural breakthrough” because the country’s Supreme Leader is a Holocaust denier.
