TheWrap is reporting that production on Anne Hathaway’s Sesame Street film has been delayed until April 2020, pushing shooting back nine months from its original start date in July.
In 2015, Sesame Workshop signed a five-season deal with HBO and Warner Bros. began working on a film companion to the series.
Sesame Street has come to the big screen twice before: in 1985 with Sesame Street Presents Follow That Bird and in 1999 with Elmo in Grouchland.
As of now, Sesame Street is still scheduled to arrive in theaters on January 15, 2021, but with the delay in production that date could potentially change as well.
