The Greatest Beer Run Ever adaptation will serve as Farrelly’s next project after his feature Green Book won two Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
According to Deadline, Apple Studios has entered early negotiations to acquire and finance director Peter Farrelly’s upcoming film adaptation of The Greatest Beer Run Ever, based on Chick Donahue and J.T. Malloy’s best-selling memoir of the same name.
The film adaptation will be directed by Farrelly from a screenplay he co-wrote with Green Book co-scribes Brian Currie and Pete Jones.
In addition, Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman) and Oscar winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator) are also currently in negotiations to star in the film with Efron poised to play the role of Donahue.
