Don Coscarelli’s 1979 fever dream, death-ball classic Phantasm has been remastered in lush 4K and will hit theaters again on September 24th (the new Phantasm film, Phantasm: Ravager, will blast onto screens on October 7th, the same day as Phantasm: Remastered weaves its way to Blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms).
1988’s Phantasm II is owned by Universal and will not be part of the deal.
Distributor Well Go USA Entertainment also has the rights to a bulk of the sequels and plan to release never-before-seen HD restorations of 1994’s Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead and 1998’s Phantasm IV: Oblivion as well.
