“I think if Peter Jackson turned up at Todd Howard’s office and said, ‘I want to do The Elder Scrolls‘, well that would be a pretty serious conversation…but I think Peter is probably pretty busy.”
Why then, following the international box office success of the Warcraft movie, haven’t we seen big screen adaptations of game giants Elder Scrolls and Fallout?
Elder Scrolls would perhaps be best adapted as a parody, centring on a group of disgruntled adventurers forced into retirement after taking an arrow in the knee.
It seems it’s because, hearteningly, developer Bethesda doesn’t want to sell the films rights to the games unless they’re done justice.
