Box office analysts are estimating that Black Panther will top Deadpool‘s February opening record with its planned $150+ million debut this weekend, but that number may not be high enough.
THR reports that Black Panther is now tracking to earn $165 million over the course of its four-day opening weekend (Monday, February 19, is Presidents’ Day in the U.S.).
Earning anywhere above $150 million will garner Black Panther the highest-grossing opening weekend for a superhero’s first solo movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With this new tracking, Black Panther will surely hit the $400 million mark domestically as was previously projected.
