After waiting 35 years for a Blade Runner sequel, Blade Runner fans are used to waiting long periods of time for a follow-up.
Outside of live-action content, Adult Swim and Crunchyroll have recently partnered together to release the anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which takes place in the year 2032 and also acts a follow-up to the original film.
According to a report from Variety, the live-action series, titled Blade Runner 2099, will serve as a follow-up to Blade Runner 2049, and will see Silka Luisa write and executive produce the project.
Currently, plot details on Blade Runner 2099 are being kept under wraps, but it seems as if the sequel will take place at least 50 years after the sequel, which itself took place 30 years after the original Blade Runner.
