Blade Runner 2049’s world premiere has been scaled back following a mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.
“In light of the tragic events of last night, Warner Bros. Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Alcon Entertainment are cancelling the red carpet for tomorrow’s screening of Blade Runner 2049,” Warner Bros. said in a statement, picked up by Variety.
Blade Runner 2049 acts as a sequel to Ridley Scott’s iconic dystopian tale, Harrison Ford reprising his role as Deccard.
The event will still take place Tuesday (3 October) at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, but there will be no red carpet.
