Malek, who plays Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama film, while the biopic went on to win best drama film.
Following two Golden Globe victories, hundreds of Bohemian Rhapsody sing-along screenings have been announced.
The victory has proven controversial due to director Bryan Singer’s involvement – the filmmaker has had multiple allegations of sexual abuse levied against him.
“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to see this outstanding Golden Globe-winning film featuring Rami Malek’s amazing Golden Globe-winning performance in theatres in both its original form and in a never-before-experienced ‘sing-along’ version,” Fox president of US distribution Chris Aronson said.
