Disney and Marvel announced nearly two years ago that a Captain Marvel movie was in development, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3.
Who Marvel chooses to direct Captain Marvel remains to be seen, but it should be announced soon.
In an interview at Comic-Con with ComingSoon, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige revealed that the Captain Marvel movie is down to a “short list” of ten directors, with a decision expected by the end of the summer.
Marvel lived up to the first part of that promise this week at San Diego Comic-Con, revealing that Brie Larson will be playing Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, the first female superhero to headline a Marvel movie solo.
