According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Warner Bros. Entertainment secured a copyright in January to use the name Central Perk for “coffee shop and café services.”
It’s also reported that Warner Bros. has further requested use of Central Perk on “toys, board games, and slot machines”, but the filings are yet to be approved.
Of course, the trademark doesn’t exactly ensure a Central Perk is coming to a location near you, but it certainly seems like a prospect a little to tempting for Warner Bros. to ignore.
A few lucky Friends fans may have had the chance to visit Central Perk – or, at least, some recreated part of it, thanks to the touring FriendsFest experience.
